Apex has maintained a trajectory of rapid growth through fierce independence, allowing us to invest in solutions, ease clients’ burden and mitigate risk before impact is felt.
CEO John F. Gause founds Apex Benefits with one mission: save clients more on their benefits, so they can do more for their people.
Apex leads clients through the impacts of the Affordable Care Act with a dedicated task force and a partnership with Milliman. Today the Compliance Department ensures our clients are proactively protected from risk.
Apex establishes its Population Health Practice. This in-house team of nurses, financial analysts and clinicians drive industry leading savings with predictive analytics, workplace wellness and medical claim surveillance.
Apex launches its Pharmacy Benefits Practice. Prescription drugs continue to be one of the most complicated aspects of employee benefits and our team brings clarity and savings.
Apex unveils an updated brand that represents its bold culture. We move into our new world headquarters in Indianapolis to better position ourselves to meet our clients' needs for the long term and accommodate continued growth.
Apex acquires InnovativeRx Strategies, vastly expanding our pharmacy capabilities and industry leadership. We provide unrivaled expertise to combat the rising cost of providing pharmacy benefits.

Apex has held the endorsement of the Association of Indiana Counties since 2006 and serves more public sector clients than any other Indiana advisory firm to this day.

AchieveWell 5-Star Designation
Apex earned the AchieveWELL Five Star designation from the Wellness Council of Indiana.
