Our Priorities
Childhood Health + Education
We believe in empowering today’s youth with the knowledge they need to take steps toward lives full of health, happiness and well-being. By strategically partnering with organizations throughout Indiana, we make a difference in the lives of the youth today for a better tomorrow.
Food Insecurity
Since 2001, Apex Benefits has proudly partnered with food banks, shelters and other organizations to help address food insecurity within the community. Our team gives back with initiatives such as our annual bottled water donation to Holy Family Shelter, partnering with United Way for Apex Benefits’ Community Day and donation drives to Gleaners Food Bank.
Our Partners
Our partnerships amplify our collective impact, pooling resources, expertise and passion to create meaningful change. By working together, we can reach more individuals in need, bridge educational gaps, promote healthy living and alleviate hunger.
United Way Day of Giving
Serving others is our tradition. Our employees team up and volunteer with various organizations and nonprofits throughout the community. Due to our rapid growth and desire for greater impact, we have partnered with United Way of Central Indiana and its Go ALL IN Day.
500 Festival
The 500 Festival hosts year-round events such as the Mini Marathon and 500 Festival Parade to unite the community and celebrate Indy’s culture — impacting over 500,000 people annually.
The organization is heavily focused on youth development — raising over $3M in support of community and youth programming.
Holy Family Shelter
Established in 1984, Holy Family Shelter holds the title of being the first dedicated emergency shelter for unhoused families in Indianapolis — providing safe refuge, essential supplies and programming to assist those in need as they begin their journey toward permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
Our team supports Holy Family Shelter through volunteer opportunities, donations and drives.
Gleaners Food Bank
Apex is a long-standing supporter of Gleaners Food Bank, one of only eleven food banks in the state of Indiana — serving over 700,000 Hoosiers every day.
Open since 1980, Gleaners Food Bank has served the community and provided programs designed to lead the fight against hunger in Central Indiana, earning the title of Indiana’s largest hunger relief organization — providing meals to one-third of the food-insecure population.
Personally Empowered
Our Benefits
Volunteer Time Off
We believe in a culture of servant leadership — where we lead by example and walk the talk. Our people are the first to raise their hands, volunteer and to step up to the plate to get the job done.
We make sure they are equipped with the tools they need to support the causes they believe in and to create impact where they believe it matters most. Every member of Team Apex receives Volunteer Time Off — in addition to their Paid Time Off — so they can give back to the community without taking time away from their families.
Charitable Gift Match
Apex recognizes the important work that nonprofits and other charitable organizations do for our surrounding communities. In support of this work, we have implemented a Charitable Giving Match program to assist these organizations in their missions and walk alongside our employees as they support the causes they are passionate about.
Many of our team members utilize this program to annually support organizations such as the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, the Nature Conservancy and United Way.
Opportunities for Impact
Community — it’s not just a buzzword. It’s one of our core values.
In addition to company-wide community initiatives, our team is empowered to create and take ownership of fundraisers, donations and drives for causes they care about and support. These events include an Indoor Mini-Golf Charity Tournament, a competitive fundraiser created by a group of employees to maintain a sense of community after the COVID-19 pandemic and “Dress for Success”, a clothing drive to support women as they re-enter the workforce due to various life events.
Leading by Example
In 2023, our team utilized over 1,000 hours of Volunteer Time Off.
