Julie Hawes, a business development advisor at Apex, volunteers and serves on the board at Purposeful Living Inc., an organization dedicated to helping the modern woman.

Why Purposeful Living?

Purposeful Living Inc. is very near and dear to my heart. I attended an event a few years ago, not knowing anyone or what to expect. Nadine McGowan the founder shared a beautiful message about the ripple effect when we empower women in community. The impact that can come from connecting women authentically where they are and support them wholly. It is faith-based at its core by bringing inspiring events, empowerment coaching, growth groups and community support. Purposeful Living’s is transforming women, marriages and families.

What kind of volunteer work do you do there?

I have served on the board of directors for several years in a row under events chair. In addition, I have served on several conference’s coordination teams and now currently serving as fundraising coordinator.

How has Purposeful Living left an impression on you?

We look through this Facebook filter at each other lives but more often the modern women whom appears to have it all together is hurt, searching or lonely behind closed doors. During a tough time in my life when it became clear that having a relationship with my mother was going to be more toxic than safe for my family, Purposeful Living walked alongside. I was so inspired by an authentic sense of womanhood. It all started one day by not even knowing these lovely women and today many are very fond friends of mine. After healing in all the right ways through Purposeful Living I’m able to navigate challenging times with the right mindset and with a community who accepts me without judgement for who I am wholly.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
