The Indiana State Department of Health announced it would resume administering the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine at its vaccination clinics over the weekend, according to the Indianapolis Star.
ISDH’s announcement followed after both the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control determined the benefits of the vaccine outweighed the risks. Both the FDA and CDC recommended pausing the use of the vaccine on April 13 to investigate a rare blood clot disorder in those that received the vaccine.
That pause lasted 11 days.
The resuming of Johnson & Johnson vaccine means the mass vaccination clinic at IMS will use the one-shot dose. The clinic will be open until April 29.
