Wellness Wednesday: Reducing Cholesterol

If you’ve been waiting to hear that dark chocolate is good for you, today is your lucky day! A recent study published in The Journal of the American Heart Association found that combining dark chocolate, raw almonds and cocoa significantly reduced the amount of LDL (“bad” cholesterol) in overweight or obese patients. Researchers warn this is not a green light to eat as much as you want, but consuming 1/3 cup of almonds with 1/4 cup of dark chocolate and 2 1/3 tablespoons cocoa has shown to have positive effects in reducing the risk for coronary heart disease.
