BPTW 2020

Apex Benefits, a benefits advisory firm and services provider, was placed 37th among small companies by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce in the 2020 Best Places to Work in Indiana Monday evening.

Apex was named a “Best Place to Work” in Indiana for the 10th year in a row in February. This is just the 15th year for the annual program created by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Best Companies Group. Apex is considered a Hall of Fame company for being named nine times in the first 15 years of the program.

Companies from communities across the state were named to the list, including cities like Bloomington, Carmel, Chesterton, Evansville, Fishers, Fort Wayne, Greenwood, Hammond and South Bend. Companies range in employee count from 15 to more than 2,100. The small company group consisted of 52 organizations. Apex clients eImagine, Renovia and Steinberger Construction were also named Best Places to Work in Indiana in the small company group.

The Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Indiana, analyzed the data and determined the final rankings of 125 finalist companies in four categories.

To determine the Best Places to Work in Indiana, companies from across the state entered a two-part survey process. The first aspect consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience and accounted for some 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.
