Apex Benefits, a benefits advisory firm and services provider, placed 34th among small companies by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce in the 2021 Best Places to Work in Indiana Thursday afternoon.

Apex was named a “Best Place to Work” in Indiana for the 11th consecutive year in February. The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has hosted the program for 16 years, making Apex a Hall of Fame company for being named 11 times in 16 years.

“It’s an honor to earn the Best Places to Work award recognition again but, more importantly, that our team continues to confirm that Apex is indeed a great place to work and that we continue to maintain and uphold our tenacious caregiving attribute,” said Stephanie DiBlasio, Apex VP of Administration. “It’s also an honor to be on the list with other Indiana employers also dedicated toward creating positive workplace cultures.”

Companies in Indiana communities such as Bloomington, Carmel, Fishers, Fort Wayne and South Bend were all recognized for their efforts in 2020 , which became a stressful year because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Apex clients Steinberger Construction, eImagine Technology were also named Best Places to Work in Indiana.

To determine the Best Places to Work in Indiana, companies from across the state entered a two-part survey process. The first aspect consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience and accounted for some 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.
