Apex Benefits Sponsors 30th Anniversary of HR Indiana SHRM Conference
INDIANAPOLIS – Apex Benefits is a proud Silver Sponsor of the 30th annual HR Indiana SHRM conference. For more than a decade, Apex has been a sponsor of the conference, Indiana’s largest gathering of HR professionals. Apex remains committed to supporting SHRM’s mission to elevate HR professionals and create better workplaces where employers and employees thrive together.
“HR Indiana is always one of my favorite weeks of the year,” said Stephanie DiBlasio, VP of HR and administration at Apex Benefits. “Gathering and learning alongside a host of current and future HR leaders is a transformative experience. You can feel the energy and impact these people leaders bring to their organizations.”
Apex will be hosting two thought-leadership sessions at HR Indiana on Wednesday, August 14 with the goal of empowering HR practitioners and providing vital insights into key challenges they face today. This year’s topics include HR’s role as a strategic stakeholder and the impact of weight loss drugs on pharmacy benefit plans.
CFO & HR Executive Panel
Apex Chief Client Officer Amber Chittenden will host an executive panel featuring three seasoned people leaders. They will deliver guidance on effecting leadership’s perceptions of HR and securing buy-in on critical benefits decisions that impact the bottom line. Attendees will walk away equipped with practical tools and strategies to build benefits packages that differentiate them from the competition and attract and retain top talent.
“Too often, HR executives are perceived as support staff instead of strategic stakeholders,” said Amber Chittenden. “I hope that everyone who attends can lean into the experience and wisdom of the panel and identify their path toward a seat at the strategic table — which is exactly where their organizations need them to be.”
Cure or Crisis: Obesity Drugs
Indiana employers exist at a crossroads. The question of whether to include obesity drugs in an employer’s pharmacy benefit plan is a topic of vigorous debate. Apex VP of Kinetiq Health Sarah Michaels, CPBS, RN will partner with Dr. Amy Ball, PharmD, president of Innovative Rx Strategies to demystify the conversation on GLP-1s. Attendees will be guided through the landscape of weight loss innovation and analyze the risk and reward of coverage for their organizations.
“The conversation around this topic is dynamic, and HR leaders need to shape their strategy on this drug category,” said Sarah Michaels. “With the high cost of these medications today, I am excited to present alongside Dr. Ball and provide HR leaders with a range of strategies to support their plan members in the fight against the obesity epidemic.”
