Apex Benefits, Indiana’s largest independent employer benefits brokerage and consulting firm focused solely on group insurance programs, announces the promotion of Amber Chittenden to the newly created position of chief client officer. A 10-year Apex employee, Amber most recently served as vice president of Client Engagement.

“In this expanded role, Amber will lead our team in creating and implementing an enhanced client experience management strategy that will directly impact customer satisfaction and our long-term success,” said Apex CEO and President John F. Gause. “For the past 10 years, Amber’s efforts have directly contributed to our growth. This addition to our senior leadership team offers limitless opportunities to positively impact our business, customers and community.”

Amber has direct responsibility for managing and innovating client management and business development services. This includes business processes across the customer continuum from lead nurturing and sales through daily account management and client retention.

“When it comes down to it, we are a service organization and our customers are the most important aspect of our business,” Amber says. “Not many organizations invest in creating a seamless customer experience from sales through the client lifecycle down to the plan member level. Reporting directly to CEO John Gause, Amber works alongside Chief Operating Officer Jim Harenberg, CPBS, to drive Apex’s long-term growth strategies. Amber has more than 20 years of experience in employee benefits. Prior to joining Apex in January 2013, she worked for Cigna.

Amber is driven to use her expertise to educate employers about the long-term value of having a group benefit partner that advocates for their organizations, employees and plan members. She is committed to building upon Apex’s history of service excellence to implement a customer experience unique to the benefits industry.
